NOPÄC
Redesigning tissue packet & tissue box for zero waste lifestyle
Summary
Overview
NOPÄC reimagines how tissue can be repackaged to eliminate waste that arises from use of cardboard and plastic packaging. We seek to raise awareness that the unassuming tissue paper, a daily commodity, can create more waste than we think.

Context
Tissue paper has become a commodity in our daily lives - it is used on our dining tables at home and even to reserve tables. It is often used without any regard. The careless usage creates waste not just from tissue paper but also from plastic and cardboard packaging.
Final Concept
Meet NOPÄC
NOPAC re-imagines tissue papers to promote reduce and reuse. NOPÄC comes in three parts: NOPÄC bag, NOPÄC box and NOPÄC packs. The sales of tissue paper will now come enclosed in a large reusable NOPÄC bag that easily fits way more tissue paper at one go than current standards of tissue boxes and packets, significantly reducing the frequency of purchase and wasteful packaging.
NOPÄC is made completely out of sustainable materials: NOPÄC box and packs are made entirely out of bamboo fiber. The reusable Bioplastic NOPÄC bag will hold and promote the use of bio-degradeable bamboo fiber tissue paper.
NOPÄC box
The intuitive design of NOPÄC box guides users to slide the cover and refill from NOPÄC bag.
The T-shaped gap is designed for smooth retrieval while promoting conscious usage.
NOPÄC packs
NOPÄC comes with five reusable tissue packs -- for the whole family! They replace the unnecessary flimsy plastic packaging used today for a simple reusable bamboo tissue pack. The packs substitutes the convenience of throwing away plastic waste with a simple slide motion into the NOPÄC box to refill exactly 10 pieces. It is just as easy as retrieving a new tissue packet!
The Vision
Reducing plastic waste
The zero waste alternative of substituting tissue papers with a handkerchief can be daunting to many as it requires a rather drastic change in their day-to-day lifestyle. Many households often give up because of the difficulty to adapt a zero waste lifestyle instantly. As such, we want to design an alternative method that can help users take a simple first step towards a zero waste lifestyle.

NOPÄC promotes reusable packaging for families in Singapore by substituting two of our biggest daily offenders, the tissue packet and boxes. NOPÄC eliminates the need for different packaging of tissue packs and boxes, with companies such as IKEA willing to make a change.
Changing habits
Inculcating the habit of refilling their tissue box sets a precedent for being less wasteful. The slit design in the NOPÄC box and the act of refilling NOPÄC pack help the user be more conscientious of the amount of tissue they use daily, both in and outside of the house. It is simple and intuitive. "Chope" stylishly and sustainably with NOPÄC!
